For people who reconcile in a spreadsheet

Reconcile your statements without the spreadsheet.

Import the statements you already download, and Zedi does the tedious part: it checks PDF statements against their printed balances, flags duplicates, pairs card payoffs and Venmo transfers, and lines up whatever is left to file.

What you get

Everything on this page is in the app today.

  • PDF statements are checked against their printed balances. If the totals or the rows carry the old balance to the new one, off by less than 50 cents, it shows as balanced; if not, a balance mismatch warning asks you to look before you save.
  • Every CSV, PDF or QFX file waits for your OK first: fix a date, store, description, category or amount row by row, hide a row, then save one file or all of them.
  • Duplicates are flagged before they land. A row arriving again as PDF, CSV or QFX is caught when its date, amount and description match the row already on the account, QFX rows also match on the bank’s own transaction id, and the same PDF is never imported twice into one account.
  • Credit card payoffs pair up when the card’s last four digits or payment wording back the match, so the payoff stops counting as spending and income. A matching amount alone never pairs two rows, a row categorized by hand keeps its category, a card payment imported as a charge is suggested for you to confirm, and when one payment matches more than one row, the Pair transfers button asks you to pick the right one.
  • Venmo cash-outs and top-ups link to the matching bank row and file as transfers on their own after every import and bank sync, and a row categorized by hand keeps its category. When a Venmo row has more than one possible bank match and no Venmo date in the bank’s description to settle it, the best match is suggested for you to confirm or reject.
  • Whatever the rules could not file waits in File uncategorized, one store at a time, biggest first, with a suggested category when Zedi has one. Press Enter to file a whole group and, with Remember on (the default), Zedi remembers the store for next time.
Common questions

Before you sign up.

What does "balanced" mean?+
That the PDF statement adds up: its totals, or the rows Zedi extracted, carry the previous balance to the new balance, off by less than 50 cents. On a card statement, a summary box that adds up is enough and the rows are not summed as well, so compare the row count with the PDF. It never checks your bank. A balance mismatch means comparing the rows with the PDF before you commit them. The check runs only on PDF statements, and only when the statement prints a starting and ending balance.
Does it pair every transfer between my accounts?+
No. It pairs credit card payoffs and, when you import a Venmo statement, Venmo cash-outs, top-ups and payments funded from your bank. A move from checking to savings is not paired on its own: file both sides under Transfer (File uncategorized has a key for it) and they stay out of spending and income.
Do I need to connect my bank?+
No. Zedi works from the statements you download yourself, as CSV, PDF or QFX files. Bank sync through SimpleFIN is an optional Pro extra, plus $1.50 a month to SimpleFIN, and synced rows go through the same pairing and triage. CSV and QFX imports are free and unlimited; PDF statements use OCR, ten a month free on our key, unlimited on Pro or on your own Anthropic key.
